Easter Sunday

I am obsessed with my family, and I cherish all the time I am given with them. I am blessed with two beautiful sisters and two parents who are absolutely in love with each other. Here in Texas, and the last day of March, the weather was superb. My dad cooked southwestern turkey burgers on the grill while my mom baked Martha Stewart inspired vinegar potatoes and sliced juicy watermelon. We ate our first meal in 2013 on the backyard porch. My sisters and I also baked strawberry cupcakes with strawberry shortbread icing. I am so blessed with a fabulous family, and I am more blessed with a loving Lord who died for MY sins, and then rose again, so I could live with Him eternally even though I still sin.

I hope you all had a blessed Easter Sunday.

LBD (remix)

LBD as in the abnormal, long black dress. I have been searching for the perfect black maxi dress for months now. I want one that is casual, comfortable yet having the ability to be dressed up, fabulous. A black maxi is one of those stellar, classic pieces in your closet that can transform from season to season. It can be a skirt or a dress. It can be worn at the beach barefoot or out dinner wither killer heels. It's that article of clothing that is so simple, but it must be so perfect to keep from one trendy season to the next. Whether you are Rihanna or Rachel Zoe, style your black maxi dress your own way.

"To This Day"

In my gifted and talented english class, we watch a random video at the beginning of class to get our brains and creative juices flowing. The other day my teacher played this video by Shane Koyczan, and it really hit home with me.

After growing up in the same town all my life, I feel as if everyone in my high school sees me in a specific way. I am so ready to leave this "bubble" of a comfort zone and meet new people. I am ready to challenge myself and actually find out who I really am and what I really like.

I just feel for humans feeling close minded and almost like they have to pretend to be someone they aren't just to fit into this bubble of a world. But there is so much more to life than fitting a certain standard. Forget about the name you are called "to this day," and find the beauty in life. Find the beauty in you.

Another Goodbye

Senior year has kind of been like a check list of goodbyes and lasts since my high school career is coming to an end and a new chapter in my life is about to begin. Cheer banquet was one of those items on my goodbye check list. I have been on the high school cheer squad with the girl's pictured above since Freshman year. It is crazy how fast time goes by. Memories with these girls will never be forgotten, and I will never forget all the crazy, silly inside jokes we have passed along to each other. A few tears were shed as we relived our past four years together on this fine night.

The theme at banquet this year was Banquet at Tiffanys, so we all tried to stay with the theme by dressing in black, white, and/or tiffany blue. I took LBD to a new level with this almost scuba dive like material of this dress. I ordered it from my favorite online website, nastygal. My platforms were from there as well. I know I will get a lot of use out of this dress in the future. Being able to dress up in my nastygal styled outfit was obviously my favorite part.

Dressy meets Casual

I first became infatuated with this tulle white skirt look when I saw it on my Facebook timeline. The girl paired the dressier, girly look with a casual navy and white striped tee for a girl's night out dinner. I love seeing girls my age find it is necessary to dress up in style. The only skirt I found that resembled the picture was from Anthropolgie, but one it is no longer available & two it is almost $200. My future project will be to design a replica of this skirt.
And here is a little inspiration from the man who knows girly glam. My main man Oscar de la Renta, and one of his chic wedding gown tulle skirts. Tulle may be one of my favorite things.

Hook 'em

I am a naturally stressed person always worrying about what is next in my life rather than enjoying the present. All through senior year, I have been worrying about getting into my dream school, University of Texas. The university is located right in the city full of music, art, and diversity. I plan on pursuing my love of fashion by double majoring in apparel design and public relations. The apparel design program is so incredible with amazing connections with designers in NYC where I hope to be after I graduate. I cannot wait to spend my next four years in Austin studying fashion. Hook 'em.
(oh and the best part was that I found out about my acceptance while in Austin)
