Oscar Favs

Some of my three favorite leading ladies ended up being my three favorite dressed on the Oscars red carpet. All so whimsical and elegant in light colors and dramatic voluminous details.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture: Y'all I want to be best friends with this girl. The fact that she is best friends with Emma Stone makes her ten times cooler too. I am always waiting to see her grace the carpet and what a STUNNA. I adore the full skirt and fitted bodice. The baby pink is so stunning.

Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen: I'm all over lavender, so of course I was in love with this dress. I love the dreamy lace layered over the gown too. She is really growing up as a style icon.

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta: I'm pretty sure an Oscar gown tops as one of my favorite red carpet looks during each award show because who am I kidding?! Oscar is a GENIUS. Amy was glowing in this ruffled, full skirt. The small details and layers put in this gown are incredible. The grown up Cinderella look worked for Amy.

February Pinspiration

February is the month of love. My month was full of love over fashion week, love over colored hair, love for Kelly Osbourne, love for fashion illustration, love for confetti, love for Clueless, love for statement lipstick, love for reading, & love for the sixties.

nyfw fall 2013 day eight

Calvin Klein Collection

I adore the pants in this collection with drop crotches and wide legs. That sounds so unflattering in text, but with the fitted crop tops and peplum bustiers it makes the large pants flow just right. The leather and fur in this collection are so elegant full of winter whites, charcoals, and dark teal.

Marc Jacobs

My favorite comment about this collection was from Refiner 29's twitter, "Now that is taking the no pants thing to the next level." I also felt like this collection was really inspired by "the walk of shame." As if the woman had some where to go the next morning, and she made an escape as fast as possible, failing to look completely presentable. But of course Marc made this walk of shame chic, right. I love the focus on outerwear. I havve become obsessed with fur, and these major fur collections just made me love it even more. The last look I posted of the sequin gown is exquisite.

Bye Bye New York Fashion Week.

Michael Kors

This collection was very futuristic. A lot of the looks also made me feel like it would be perfect for an elegant weekend on the slopes in a ski lodge with friends. A lot of high to low lengths, wool, peplum shapes, leather, fur, and accented pop of colors. Alongside the futuristic look, it also showed of a more sporty chic feel.

Nanette Lepore

The opening look wowed me with the hologram shoes and bag. This collection had a military feel. Also it is odd how leather looks can make it look like it is from the 90s or even from the future; mixing the past and the future. Also give me those heeled, booties in olive green, please.

Rachel Zoe

I love that Rachel Zoe really represents the cool LA girl, and that she can be anywhere besides LA and still maintain her laid back yet in style vibe. It is really the hats that do this for me. Another collection full of leathers that I am obsessed with. Also, that olive green, it is back in this collection too, and I think I love it.

J. Mendel

Uhm,a peplum shape out of fur? OH HECK YEAH. Oh and a plus that is paired with some super chic leather pants. I feel as if these last four designers almost had a cohesive collection on the seventh day of fashion week with olive green, camel, furs, and pops of cobalt blue! The baroque and metallic, tiny details are so superb.

Anna Sui

Groovy baby! I felt like any leading lady in a James Bond movie would flaunt any of these looks. And look one, adorned by the lovely Karlie Kloss, reminded me of the Scooby Doo character, Velma. I loved the fun colors of layers and mixed prints. A lot of it didn't seem like it could style together into one look, but at the same time, it just all worked so perfectly.

Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott is a weird one, but he also shows the world to keep on expressing your creativity and not tear down your out of the box thinking because the rest of the world might think it is "too much." Yeah a lot of it is not for me, but I see his love of life in his collection. I love the graphic tees, especially the first one. Like I think I am going to own it because it is much needed and so true.

Marchesa

Marchesa strikes again! The two lovely designers behind this name always find a way to make you swoon over their gowns in a way as if you feel like you are falling in love. Another perfect example of gowns that remind me of a fairytale. The tulle placed over the gowns, flowing so freely is so magnificent. I like the gold accents. And as soon as I saw the second look that I put on here, I instantly saw Emma Stone wearing it on the red carpet.

Proenza Schouler

Such a dainty collection full of black and white combos with some hints of peach in certain looks. Find me a full fur, midi skirt please and thank you.

I mean c'mon, the designs are by everyone's child heroes, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. This collection is very sophisticated. I love that you can see their natural style in these looks with almost everything over sized.
