My favorite looks from the spring 2013 runway shows were the all black and white stripes. It is known that stripes make you look wider than you are, but I strongly disagree with this myth. I think stripes are flattering and a true statement piece. I have never seen stripes on a gown before, but this Oscar de la Renta pictured above is breathtaking. It is true that stripes can be taken from formal attire to a daily casual outfit. I think the pattern is easy to style. When you are going to school or running errands throw on a striped blouse with a bright colored blazer and a simple pair of blue jeans. If you want to be a little more showy then throw on some black and white vertical striped jeans that you can pick up anywhere from Forever 21 to Free People. I jump started this trend in the fall, but I am excited to go full out striped this spring.
