I got a very American Indian/eskimo vibe from this show. I loved the asymmetrical dresses, and the mix of leather, fur, and sheer like a lot of the other fall 2013 collections. Leather on evening wear is one of my new favorite trends. I also think I need a camel long coat because I have seen that pop up on the runway multiple times now.
Betsey Johnson
Betsey Johnson knows how to have fun, and you can just tell my the model's faces while they are strutting down the runway! Surprisingly, her show was more of active wear than her frilly girly dresses. I am just so happy after her bankrupt outbreak last year, that she is back at it again in the fashion industry. We couldn't just say bye to such an inspirational girl's girl!
Reem Acra
This collection resembles a gothic fairytale with a twang of the twilight genre. The last two gowns had my heart pounding. The massive amounts of tulle and delicate fabric pieces that resemble flowers covering the breasts is so elegant. I would love to just sit in one of these gowns for a day.
3.1 Phillip Lim
I seriously want it all. I think this is my favorite collection I have seen thus far. To me it is a mix between The Man Repeller and Alexa Chung? Is that possible? I don't know, but it makes sense to me. And look the camel trench is back in this collection as well. The layers upon layers just make me want to look into my closet and make these outfits work out of clothes I already own. This collection just feeds me so much inspiration. I love it.
Marc by Marc Jacobs
Bon Voyage! This collection instantly made me think I was traveling to Paris in the 60s. I loved the jumpsuits, bright colors, and clean lines. The best part had to be the BIG curly hair! I have been obsessed with big hair since the Carrie Diaries started and well before that from Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. The lovely Marc never fails to impress me with his fabulous, cohesive collections.
Alice + Olivia
GIVE ME IT ALL! I love all the prints and full skirts and leather. The braid crown was also fantastic. So girly and dramatic and all wearable for a confident girl. They are all so magnificent, but in order to wear these outfits you have to be able to know who you are and not be insecure. But you can walk in a room, flaunt your stuff, and have eyes stare at you in envy.
