nyfw fall 2013 day six

Tory Burch

This collection reminded me of a mix of a proper working lady and a jeweled encrusted royalty. I loved the jeweled collars, tweed, and long patterned coats.

J.Crew

I love how J. Crew is so daring with mixing prints. The risky look always turns out perfect. The models are all styled so wonderful with upcoming fall trends of mixed prints, metallics, strappy short heels, midi skirts, and pant suits. SUPER CHIC ALL AROUND

Badgley Mischka

They definitely made fishnet tights look chic rather than cheap which is a difficult task. This collection had a lot of sparkle and shine and made for a woman with a big personality. I felt a lot of Egyptian and 1920's flapper inspiration.

Vera Wang

A very futuristic collection with mod shapes from Miss Vera Wang. That dark oxblood lipstick keeps showing up in the fall shows, and this one was no different. The detailed metallic and sequin dresses are so eye catching. I also loved the suede and leather wedges to make the scintillating dresses more subtle.

Jenny Packham

All the gowns are so dreamy. They are like modern day princess gowns. Here we go: the first one would be worn by Sleeping Beauty, look two would be adorned by Rapunzel, look three would be adorned by Mulan, and look four would obviously be adorned by Cinderella. All right my reviews are probably beginning to get lame now that I am comparing them to Disney princesses, but I just could not help it.

Naeem Khan

I am in love with the first gown. The past couple years the laser cut out see through dress has been in style, but this one is a lot more modest (if that is possible). It is just dainty and pretty. The crystal, flowy detail parts of the looks again reminded me of the 1920s. Flapper is coming back ladies and gents.

Rodarte

I'm going to be honest, normally I love Rodarte's totally out there, creative taste, but this fall collection did not really connect with me. It may have been a little too boho/homeless for me. But that is fashion. It is their creative expression which I love about the industry. I did pick two looks that I was fond of because of the cut outs in the dress and the collar of the second gown. It's the little details people.

Oscar de la Renta

And now, saving the best for last! Oscar de la Renta never does wrong. He actually went a little grungier this year which is surprising since his designs most of the time just remind me of a dainty lady going to an adult tea party. BUT I LOVE THIS EDGY OSCAR. Oh and give me a cape please? I never thought I would ask that, but it happened. Oh and don't even get me started on that hot pink with gold details gown because I could go on forever. I think my heart stopped when I first saw it. It is magnificent and magical. I would do anything to just see the gown in person. Mr. Oscar, you are a doll.
